I cant see the puddle all the time and it always gets really bright (cant see the puddle) for a few secs and it gets normal for one sec and goes back again to really bright, that my helmet cant even take it.cuz I end up seeing a White spot after welding. One thing I also was curious about is that since now I have the setup all ok, I am still getting an UNstable arc. Well, sometimes there is a little little spark when I crank the amps all the way and it makes a gouging (sp?) hole/pit then it starts to spark.I need to practice on nice metals cuz the ones I have are dirty and has a coating on it.need to go to a junk yard and get me some sheet metal.for practice!
Thats steel.but I think there is some coating on it! I should try to grind it down though.Īnyways, I got a new bottle of 100% argon and upped the size too 110CF! hehehe.I just paid the difference of the tank but they gave me free refill and 2 tungsten.I tried it and well, there is no more spatter/sparks. What in the world are you welding on? That looks like something you found in a river! Are you welding on clean steel and that is the result? or is it something rusty? Grind it down until you have shinny steel.
